When I worked on the CO Highway Dept. I-70 was occasionally closed to high profile vehicles due to the winds. Also occasionally water would be picked up from the lake and land on I-70 and then freeze. The bad spot would be less than a 1/2 mile long but what a mile. There once was a patrol car parked a bit too close when the Zephyr was blowing and the blowing sand from the flats blasted all the paint off the drivers side. Fun times. JP
