In September 2011 Pete Lerro sponsored a two day charter, the highlight was a (small) herd of cattle at Osier and we were able to get these scenes at the historic stock pens. I'm not sure of the details, but apparently safety concerns dictate the need for more room between the tracks at Osier (which is thoroughly understandable and probably long over due), and since the eating house is in the way they can't move the mainline toward the river. So the only way to do it is to move the siding farther into the hillside, and the pens are in the way. But I'm just guessing. Would be interesting to hear what the plan is. Hopefully the fence can be rebuilt a bit farther up the hill, so the result will look similar to what we have, just with smaller pens. Net net, a small price to pay for some needed safety improvement. But I'm glad I have pix of the original, even if it is a phraud-o-phreight.
