Eureka, a Baldwin 4-4-0, 8-18c of about the same age, in similar service, with a 18' 7"' wheel base was said (by Baldwin) to require a 24 degree (or 240' radius).. of these, Baldwin said, "They are constructed with a swing bolster truck, enabling then to pass short curves with ease"
The North Pacific Coast had issues with its first 2-6-0 on curves, and rebuilt it as a 4-4-0...
These were for (narrow gauge) main line work, and needed curves of a reasonable radius....
