Re: 493 Movement

I have some fond memories of 493. First was chasing 483 with 493 helper from Chama-Cumbres on June 5, 1968, then later that day chasing 493 light from Antonito to Alamosa. Then the next day we went inside the Alamosa Roundhouse to see 484, 483, and 493 simmering after the run the day before. In 1994 we saw 493 inside the Durango Roundhouse and it was set-up with steps for visitors on the tours to get inside the cab. I shot some video up there inside the cab and around the roundhouse. It is sad to see it continually being exposed to the elements. In a video we are working on that has footage Fritz Klinke shot, there is a train in 1967 with 493 and 497 as the rear helper from Chama. Would be nice to see something like that repeated someday!!!! Just need to acquire 493 and rebuild both K-37's. Maybe we can get MR K-37 William to finance all that!!!
