D&RGW water tank spout

I have a question on the design of water tower spouts.
I took the following photo in Chama of two spouts which appear to be of different designs.
One has a casting on the end that goes into the tank while the other appears to be simply rolled sheet metal.
Was there a standard water spout? If so anyone have the dimensions such as the length and the diameter both at the tank end and the end that goes into the tender tank end.
