Photographer David J Smith captured this image of a rather battered Baldwin trench loco which has arrived in the museum shed of the Statfold Barn Railway in Staffordshire, England. Ordered by the French Military for use in World War 1, this loco was supplied by Baldwin in 1916.Following the ceasefire in 1918,she was sold to the Ryam Sugar Works, Bihar, India, where she worked for many years. Left abandoned in the yard, she has eventually made her way to the U.K.,and will be returned to full working order, although that will take a few years. Photo reproduced with David's permission.
