I was perusing some pictures of the Depot in Montrose and came to this realization. The Montrose Historical Society has a photo on their home page taken in 1912 that is listed D&RG Depot 1912. That's good. But what is really good is it shows the platform being extended by removing the closest track at the Depot. This removed piece of track is the one that the Presidential special was standing on taken when the Gunnison Diversion Tunnel was opened earlier. This is a really great piece of information, if one is so inclined (like me). Paul.
