Probably not what you expected, but a little change of pace. This is the Suileng logging railway in Manchuria, or was. These pix were taken in November 2005. Winter is the logging season because the freezing temps make the ground more solid. Small tractors drag the logs to the loading sites, and trains haul the logs some 70 miles to a mill. The gauge is 2'6'. The little 0-8-0's are ugly as sin, but real work horses. By 2005 was line was dieselized but had one serviceable steamer.
