Yes, we could explore this area on one of the C & C exploratory trips.
Tramway is one of our favorite desert camping locations. Know the spot well.

In the past, I have explored this area; going to the east end in Saline Valley, and points in between.
The BLM has restored some of the former facilities; miners cabins, some tram towers.
It might be worth a look. Be forewarned, some of the roads in this is area can be treacherous, high clearance four wheel drive in spots.

If one feels adventurous, there is a nudist colony at Saline Valley Hot Springs.
