Yep, that’s the photo I had in mind Bruce!

I found the reference I thought was Chappell, but it was actually David Myrick in “New Mexico’s Railroads” in the ATSF chapter (page 50 in my copy):

“... the D&RG owned a third rail on Track 14 of the NMC extending 5,691 feet to a stockyard southwest of Santa Fe.”

The ATSF bought the NMC in 1926 and abandoned the Kennedy-Santa Fe portion of the line in 1929.

I don’t know how much of the third rail was lost at that point.
