#36 has a lot of standardized ALCO features. The cab, domes, trailing truck, rods, cylinders, valve links, and smokebox front all have specific features commonly found on ALCO's.
You can see a lot of the same features on Valley RR's #40. The domes are the smaller round version of #36's oval ones, the smokebox front has been replaced, and the headlight has been moved, but everything else is quite standardized, and what a difference those few changes make in the looks of the engine.
