Re: NNG Louisiana and Arkansas 503 to be scrapped! Please help!

The guys trying to save this thing should have negotiated an exact amount before the fundraising. He was only estimating the costs of the engine, the move, and the cranes. Apparently he underestimated the scrap value, and in not getting an exact price in writing they had the guts to ask for more I suspect. Someone should have made this public in the local press and admonish the guy for asking that much for the engine when these guys are trying to save it. But, what do I know. I am always a bit of a skeptic on this stuff, but I shelled out some funds anyway!!!! I think everyones next donations should go to the Rio Grande 168. At least there we can see and know whats happening, and it will run again.
