The market is definitely not large. I think it is more than a couple of dozen, but probably does not exceed 200 nation-wide. That would be the number of folks who are willing to spend $500 or more on a charter once or twice a year. Chris is probably spot-on to say that only a couple of dozen are willing to do it 5-6 times per year. Certainly if you add in the requirement to hop on planes and rent cars, the field narrows significantly. There definitely are "regional charter patrons."
I think that the charter gurus such as Michael Allen, Pete Lerro, Carl Franz and Martin Hansen could probably speak with the most authority on this topic, because they are the ones with the mailing lists for these people and they likely also have the best handle on what percentage of those mailing lists are really frequent customers.
