K-27 458 and 459 sale

Hi,
I have seen notes that the D&RGW sold K-27s 458 & 459 to National Railways of Mexico in 1941. I found this photo on the Friends collection that Otto Perry took on October 17, 1941 of 459 working a train on the RGS.

Does anyone know when the sale happened? Was the sale date before December 7th?

I am sure the RGS would have likes to be the owner instead of them being sold out of the country. The RGS would have saved a lot of money not having to rent locos, which was why they later on bought #74.
