Another date pinned down

I knew this was August 1967 and that somebody from Trains was in the extra caboose, but now I know the actual date. I was headed east for my second year of graduate school and was very lucky to stumble onto some action on the ng., since not too many trains ran that year.
It looks like only three drop bottom gons got added after they got to the top, so business was clearly way down.
