NNG Santa Fe Movie

GET-TV recently broadcast this movie, one of at least three RR history films starring Randolph Scott (the others being Denver & Rio Grande and Canadian Pacific). All these were made with coopeartion of the respective railroad companies around 1949-51. Santa Fe features 0-4-0 Little Buttercup and 2-8-0 9440, the latter painted as a Rio Grande engine in one scene depicting the Royal Gorge conflict. Little Buttercup survives today at San Jose, but 9440 was sold for scrap in February 1951. Since the 9440 was last assigned to the Prescott, AZ branch and the terrain resembles that area, I'm guessing at least some of the scenes were filmed there.

The "full size" version of the movie has been removed from Youtube due to copyright infringement, but this version is still available:
