Here is a question that may be obvious though I can’t see it.

Why did they replace the Antonito coal tipple in the mid to late 50s? Was this a great need once the Chili Line was torn up? Or, was the coaling for NG topped off here for westward runs? Was the coal for this location coming off the NG. My thinking is that at this time, they would have filled at Alamosa and been good until reaching Chama. I guess where did the coal for Alamosa and Antonito come from?
