Re: Red Devil Coal Loader Question

Since the Red Devil Loader from Helper / Antonito appears to have been covered in detail, here is some of the data
for the one at Alamosa. It too, was a second-hand unit but the records do not indicate where it came from originally.
Construction was to be started October 1957 and completed by November 1957 under AFE 4691 however the
Completion Report indicates that the retirement of the old wood trestle and the installation of the Red Devil
unit plus a new 42' Sanding Tower (made from a second hand tank car) was not actually completed until 1958.

This was a "progressive AFE" in two parts and I ran out of time before searching out the 1958 portion. Hopefully
will be able to dig it out next week.
