The #18 going to Laws and steam returning to Como are two important railway events for 2017, that's for sure. What's interesting is how unlikely (or impossible) these two things were just a few years ago.
The restoration of #18 by a dedicated crew was wonderful in itself but taking the loco to it's old stomping grounds really showcased the engine. The photos taken at Laws are timeless.
Como is amazing since just a few years ago, the depot was near collapse and there was no track. Now the Como station is a beautifully restored building with a railroad that feeds to a working turntable and a usable roundhouse, WOW. As Red Skelton used to say "Whoda thunk it".
