August 1971 on the narrow gauge

My first visit to the DRGW ng. post abandonment of freight ops was in August 1971. Here are a few pix from that trip.
The first is the remains of the Alamosa shop, which the DRGW promptly demolished. The second is unfortunately not a Friends parts supply, but the scrap heap in Alamosa. Oddly I think those are standard gauge stock cars in the background. The forth shows Russo's favorite engine in his favorite paint job, albeit covered with grime. The 484 was also active then. And finally the 489 and 488 await better days, which they would indeed see.
