The trick is to just pick the right weekend/day. The D&S is only running the diesel about half of the days in January. Plus you have the rest of December, which is all steam for both the Cascade train and Polar Express.

One a side note, when they do run the diesel next month, I hope it's the Alco (1203?) and not that thing REHUN posted a pic of (which is a GE I assume?).
