You're at least partly right, Brian -
The beer I bought last week was definitely labeled "Old #38", and it came from Fort Bragg. The logo on the bottle showed the front of a loco (not Roosso) with a round number plate, '38', centered on the smokebox front. As a result of imbibing a second glass of beer – something better, to cleanse my pallet – I fogged my brain and remembered ol' #38 from the Sierra.
- Sincerely,
Willie (Wm. Claude Johnson-Barr III, Esq.)
