Porter built an even bigger set of 2-8-2s, but Cape gauge and with inside frames, for export to the Belgian Congo in 1917 when the usual European builders were unavailable due to World War I. These were the famous "Katanga Mikados" that also saw service on the South African Railways, and several apparently survived in service in what later became Zaire (now DR Congo) as late as the 1970s. I own one of builder's plates from the last one built, C/N 6016.
