It's good to see the engine was parked with such relatively low miles after a shopping. You're very correct that most park engines are not so lucky. The last photo is pretty close up and a little hard to tell exactly where it is. Is that the #2 crank pin and main rod brass? If so it looks pretty good. A lot of life left there, especially considering the engine won't be part of the regular rotation (I assume?). I suppose if the driver profiles need turning, and everything gets quartered that would necessitate new rod brass regardless. I'm just curious how much of the old machining work is still considered serviceable?

I seem to remember reading earlier that boring the cylinders was planned. Were those found to be in as good of shape as everything else?
