Frank Frantz, who was on the 490 to Monarch had standard gauge seniority in Salida yard as a fireman and hostler. His seniority date on these jobs was 8-1-1936. His narrow gauge fireman's date was 9-8-1912. Frank Veo, who was one slot below Frantz, had even more standard gauge jobs, being a fireman on mainline passenger and freight as well as yard and hostler. His narrow gauge fireman's date was 8-30-1915.
Charles D. Wilson, one notch ahead of Frantz on the narrow gauge, also was a yard fireman and hostler on the standard gauge. Senior narrow gauge hogheads like Bill Wilson and Bill Hyatt did not have standard gauge seniority.
