Thanks for sharing pictures of this car. I am working on some drawings of this car for modeling purposes. It appears to be converted from an early D&RG coach. I'm sure someone here knows who built the coach. The name escapes me and I don't have my books nearby at the moment. I would like to know why this car wasn't built with a wider 3 panel baggage door. Was the front compartment used for postal service and smaller sized baggage or packages? Narrow suitcases only, no steamer trunks! Early baggage size restrictions? I digress. Can anyone speculate what color the car was painted? Did it get a green paint job when all of the other cars of similar vintage were painted green? Was it ever painted the oxide red like we see remains of today? There were a few D&RG pieces of passenger equipment with oxide red paint and white lettering.
Thanks
