I know the Shavano quit running in November 1940. I have a set of photos that I think are taken in 1948 that show clearly the Shavano drumhead on the back of a passenger train that meets the San Juan and also some freights.

Was this an excursion that used the Shavano drumhead?

Some of the photos show the train at Gato, Carbon Junction and other spots. Maybe the negatives are before 1940 after all. Any thoughts?
