In 1881 the D&RG took delivery of 3 Standard gauge 4-6-0's of Class 46, #s 155-157, with 14x20" cylinders, 45" drivers and 10,140#'s TE. Renumbered to 503-505 in 1887. This is one of those engines methinks. (504 sold 6/99, 503, 505 sold 4/06)
Like 2-8-0's 412-416, these were basically narrow gauge engine designs but were built to standard gauge to handle trains on the new Denver-Pueblo 3rd rail.
