Although the NCNGRR was not a Midwestern railroad and was a small Northern California short line it had its share of cars from many narrow gauge roads. One of these roads with the F&CC railroad of which the NCNG had 21 of it 25 ton capacity boxcars. The museum is fortunate to have one of these cars, the former 507 which went on in 1915 to the NCO and then 1926 to the SPNG as its car #26. After a stint in the movie business from 1955 to 1987 the car ended up at the NCNG museum where it went through a complete restoration outdoors through 1997 to 2000. The car is now back in the shop for maintenance getting a bright new NCNG box car red paint job and new roofing material. The brake system is being checked and the trucks journal boxes service before she goes back outside. Just letting you guys know that we like our Colorado cars also. John Christensen
