Okay I have to ask. What sort of tools were kept in the tool boxes on the pilot of NG engines. If they had these boxes on the engines why would there be a need for smaller metal boxes for the crews. Were these pilot boxes locked? I have seen a lot of those boxes on NG engines, mostly in the pre-1950's era.
