Though It is rare, I must agree -
Chris and I are often at opposite poles in these discussions – and Willie & I rarely see eye-to-eye about anything – but this time I have my own archival photographic evidence that compels me to agree with both of them. Here are un-doctored croppings from three photos taken at night in Durango (
"in Durango, where the Spaniards did Fandango") during the Autumn of 1964, and one taken in broad daylight at Gato (formerly known as Pagosa Junction) in mid-August of 1966
:
Granted, none of the above is a K
-27, but having non-Phraud-O-Graphic™ evidence that the other three classes of D&RGW Mi
kados WERE lettered with a hyphen (or dash), I'm tempted to conclude that whether or not they were referred to as K
-27s in Company records, they were certainly identified as such on the sides of their cabs.
