True, it's a useful work-around -

But in the "olden days" the NGDF 'Search' worked just fine WITHOUT having to go through all this external rigmarole (which includes remembering to use the 'site:' keyword – something that my increasingly fuzzy brain sometimes fails to do), and WITHOUT exposing my searches to Google's notoriously mercenary information gathering . . .

p.s. I just tried the same thing with Yahoo, and all it found was the NGDF message list.
