DRG 168 progress and grant award!!!

Howdy everyone,

I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone so far for your generous support of our efforts on DRG 168! We are almost 70% of the way to our fundraising goal of 500,000 to complete the project. As many of you may have heard, the Narrow Gauge Preservation Foundation has awarded the project a grant where every dollar that is donated will be matched two to one! We have almost completed this match and I would like to invite anyone who is thinking of joining the team via a contribution to do so and leverage their impact even further!

The tender tank is just a couple days from completion and soon will be mounted on the already rebuilt frame and running gear. The FOCTS just picked up the cab for rehabilitation over the winter, and the drawings package has been finalized by Jim Booth to aid their efforts. Soon, the running gear on the locomotive itself will be underway, and the good news is, project 168 is currently 30 days ahead of schedule and $10,000 under budget!
