Hi David,

I think that if you're willing to pay the railroad enough money, they'll paint it pink for you. You'd just have to cover the cost of putting it back into C&TS livery, as I think the railroad would find the pink scheme detrimental to their "brand" for normal operations.

In the case of the RGS paint scheme, I don't think the decision to leave the 463 in those colors was in any way motivated by a desire to please railfans. In fact, some of the folks who paid to have it painted that way might have preferred to see it back in D&RGW livery. Rather, I think that it was left that way because the current scheme is a historic representation, and because it is late in the season, passenger traffic is high, and the railroad has a lot of maintenance challenges just keeping the equipment running. They really don't have the bandwidth in the shop to be painting locomotives at this point.
