The Legislature of both Colorado and New Mexico also deserve thanks for their
wisdom and initial efforts to preserve this piece of the D&RGW NG that we know
today as the C&TS.

I'm not sure of the dollars and legal support each state contributed up front to make
this happen but am sure without the initial and ongoing support from both states, the
preservation outcome would have been much different if left to private efforts.
