Yes.
Time was set to make the Alamosa connection. Ala-Den (train 116) ran to suit (1st priority) the POD.
Departure time from Durango varied a little over the years (1905-1951) that the Colorado & New Mexico Express/San Juan & New Mexico Express setup ran. In for the most part Durango departure was around 9:00 am with arrival in Alamosa around 8:00 pm. Up to 1937, most of the (small) improvment in running time came off the Alamosa end. With the start of the San Juan both were moved later and stayed there to the end.
