The great big sign next to the General does state "The California Zephyr," so I think my date era is wrong. It was probably later in the 80s, I didn't note any dates on the back of the picture but I was there in the station as a passenger on the CZ. My first memory of trains and Union Station dates to about 1944 when our family was out on the platform to greet a passenger train that had my father on it coming home on leave. My first ride on the CZ arriving in Denver was 1956 but I had ridden other trains prior to that out of Union Station.
