Klondike Mines No. 4 made her final appearance under steam for 2017 on Saturday, September 2, bringing quite a few folks up from the Narrow Gauge Convention in Denver to take a look.
We were able to ease No. 4 out of the roundhouse using a car mover and a prybar before lighting the fire. The wind of course was going the wrong way and promptly filled the roundhouse with smoke.

Jeff Badger (in cab) and Will Gant (working on the side rods) from the Georgetown Loop were kind enough to spend their day off working on another steam locomotive. First time in a long time that a Clear Creek division engine crew came over to work in Como! Will was working on shimming the side rod bearings.
Meanwhile Jason Smith (L), of Colorado Summit Construction, and a volunteer were at work re-gauging the rail on the turntable (it was a little tight on one end)
