They had talked about moving the 1006 down to Chemainus, but that never happened.
She was cut up there along with the pair of Pacific Coast Shays. The former Alberni Lbr. 2-8-2T
went south to Comox but was not used much. By the time that Comox went to diesel, the engine changed
hands again. It was back to M-B at the Nanaimo Lakes operation where she was the main engine until
December of 1969 when they quit rail hauling there.
Then it was a short trip South to the mill at Chemainus where she was the switcher into the early 70's.
Strong little pot with big cylinders, 200 lbs. and 42" instead of 44" drivers which put her t.e. around
31,000 lbs.
