Re: 463 and 13 car train

Hi,

I visited the C&TS in 1990, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 9. I had 6 videos an many stills of the C&TS and D&SNG..

When Mom died in 2012, I lost those tapes. In the past two weeks, I found copies 1st generation copies of the 1997, and two other tapes. It shows Eureka's visit to the C&TS and her first(?) try at the steep side of Cumbres. Thanks so much Dan for the sharing. The 463 was the chase train and there was a meet with 497 at Toltec siding - east end. There is also a departure of a 480 from Osier.

There was another with Eureka on the D&S. Near the end, Dan was hanging out the cab watching the side rods. I think this was when the pin holding a rod or retaining nut in place fell out and it was a slow trek back with the star preformer to Durango. Does anyone recall this and what year it was?

I've not yet watched but a short blurb of the third tape recovered waiting to savor it later.

As for the 13 car train with 463, there is a departure of 463 with 11 cars (including the Hinmann) west from Antonito.
