Hello All,
I have attached a few photographs of our recent progress. We are making slow but steady progress on the rebuilding of C&S caboose #1006's frame. Shown are the sills that have been notched to accept the end or buffer sills of the car. All sills are made of Douglas Fir, as the original timbers were. Oak blocks will be used as spacers, as on the original frame.
We have also been striving to improve the appearance and security of locomotive 60 and coach 70 in Idaho Springs. For the month of August (due to the Narrow Gauge Convention being in town) we have reinstalled #60's class lights and illuminated her headlight. The class lamps will soon be lighted as well, and were restored by Ron Keiser.
Regards,
