I'm not sure that photos of either the diesel or the steamers are all that rare. There are plenty of photos of the diesel in George Turner's "Slim Rails through the Sand" and in Mallory Hope Ferrell's "Southern Pacific Narrow Gauge" and its career on the line is well illustrated, especially considering that it only ran there for five years! According to Mr. Turner's book it was sold on to Pan-American Engineering in April 1961 and I think it is still around, or at least was until recently, as there are photos of it dumped a few years ago along with other narrow gauge equipment at Cananea, Sonora in Mexico. Maybe someone can rescue it and return it to Laws!
