Please be advised that the following items were stolen from the Sierra Railroad shop at Jamestown, CA. The theft is believed to have taken place late in the afternoon on July 13th.
1. One spare used injector less handles The injector is a size 8 which is going to fit most small to average size steamers. Disposal on eBay or in a private setting would be very easy as stuff like this is priceless.
2. A complete steam valve assembly. The steam valve assembly has a new custom fitted thread to the worn thread of the yoke casting.
3. One start valve along with a water control valve handle.
The photos show the steam valve assembly and the steam nozzle.
Note the small brass pin in the handle to secure the crank. Also, easy to spot is the all new bronze spindle visible as a golden color next to the disk nut at the right end of the assembly.
The steam cone has the factory markings still stamped into the hex flat.
Additional photos to come after I return from vacation next week.
The thief had to know just what he was getting as he took the correct parts to make a complete injector. He also snagged a new steam cone as it was right there and would fit into a pocket easily. The interior of the injector is well used and has never been touched since it was taken our of service long ago. Even if the thief has no skills in the rebuilding of injectors but could clean the outside and install the handles making it look like a good condition injector.
