The Maine Maritime Museum is ay Bath on Route 1 on the way to Wiscasset. They have good displays about Maine's ship building heritage.

If you are lucky Stewart Rhine may be at the WW&F on the day you are there; he is a first rate tour guide. He took us around the last time I was in the area.
