Donald,
I think you might have meant Mariemont, Ohio. Norfolk and Western had their Cincinnati Freight yard just below Mariemont at Clare. Madeira would have been on the old Baltimore and Ohio.
Have been to both places, including during the steam days. When Clare yard was abandoned years ago, I got a sign and post. It is an oval sign that is green. Its still on the post in the garage. I have no idea what it was for.
I do have an N&W lantern that my wife bought for me for a birthday present. She bought it at a yard sale I think from Williamsburg, Ohio, about 8 miles from Batavia. Do you still live in Ohio?
