Indeed. I recall in '91 when 844 and 3985 double-headed to Sacramento - a HUGE deal which draw substantial crowds. Coming out of Laramie, the Wyoming highway patrol had things well in hand, keeping the mayhem to a minimum. This was back in the days when CB was still popular and channel 19 was full of frustrated railfans griping about the pace. One of the patrol boys jumped on frequency and advised everyone to chill, or he'd have us all running at 40 MPH.
