It's not so bad chasing the C&TS but if you're chasing say the UP he's doing close to track speed. As to the incident mentioned, 30 has some
decent passing spots but it's up and down and the forward vision isn't great. The highway speed is 60 and the UP will run close to 50 through
there so there isn't much leeway at legal speeds to get ahead for the shot. That's about the time that common sense should set in and "pick your
spot" becomes reality. You're never going to change that set of circumstances unless you've got local enforcement and I can tell you that Washington
County Sheriff's would have been glad to be out there with some advance notice. I know that UP wants no part of the chasers but a call to the
local SO/PD/HP wouldn't take long and would a long way to calm down some of this crap.
