Greg asked about F&CC locomotives acquired by the D&RG.

The F&CC and affiliates bought new: Twelve Baldwin 2-8-0s, delivered between 1894 and 1897; one ALCO tank loco for suburban service in 1898 - delivered as an 0-4-4T, but soon rebuilt as a 2-4-4T; and six ALCO 4-6-0s, delivered between 1899 and 1900. After the abandonment of the F&CC main line, track in the Cripple Creek mining district was converted to standard gauge, and the F&CC equipment was sold.

The D&RG needed more power to cope with the WW I traffic surge, and so they purchased used locomotives for their narrow gauge lines including the following ex F&CC motive power: Three ALCO 4-6-0s for the RGS in 1916, and six Baldwin 2-8-0s - five in 1917, and one more in 1920. In addition, in 1916 the D&RG purchased most of the narrow gauge rolling stock of the CF&I's Crystal River Railway, including three outside frame Baldwin 2-8-0s. At that time they leased the Crystal River's rotary, which was purchased in 1920, becoming D&RG OO. The D&RG also purchased the Crystal River's narrow gauge Ingoldsby patent dump cars. The Ingoldsby cars were retired in the early 1920s, but there is a George L. Beam photo of one at the new Durango coal tipple. Apparently the trucks from the ex CR cars went under the narrow frame tank cars.
