At least in late summer, when the water in El Rio De Las Animas Perdidas En Purgatorio is lower and warmer than in early spring, some of the locals liven up their afternoons by mooning the train as it returns to Durango.
And if you get on and off the train at Rockwood you'll miss scenic Shalona Lake and the 'Little Highline' along Elbert Creek (see [
ngdiscussion.net]).
