That sounds like a good theory so lets expand this theorem a bit. Would the engine be facing Grand Junction in Montrose and Durango in Alamosa? That would put him on the correct side BUT he would be working backwards in the cab. Or was the engine facing the other way? In that case the engineer is on the correct side facing forward but the boiler would be in the way. Confusing but any thoughts/ideas. Splitting nits here but interesting to know. Paul.
